Mammoth Mountain Snow Adventure

Mammoth Mountain Snow Adventure

We made a last minute decision to just head up to Mammoth Lakes on Thursday so we packed up after work and headed out! Friday evening I went out to a little filming and got flagged down by someone who said they were stuck and needed help so I followed them to where they were and sure enough he was stuck all the way up to his frame in water, mud and snow. We pulled out the winch line on my trusty Warn M800S and had him out in no time, he offered to give me money for the trouble but that's not what the off-road community is about and it turns out this good deed would come back around to me the next day.....

We were out exploring and getting some shots when Olivia said the truck felt like the brakes weren't working so I had her jump out and felt for myself and sure enough, no brakes! I called my friend Jason for some help and couldn't find a leak anywhere but the master cylinder was bone dry so I knew there had to be a leak. Due to all the snow and water under the truck it was impossible to locate so we limped the truck all the way back to the road in 4LO where I was able to send out an message to a local friend Greg and he reached out to his friends. A few moments later Alex showed up with his wife and they ran into town to get some brake fluid so we could try and find the leak, ended up seeing tons of fluid just puke from the drivers side rear drum so we knew right away it was the wheel cylinder. We were able to tow my truck back to the house where we could safely work on the truck.

I’m writing this still up in Mammoth as we wait for the parts to arrive which should be tomorrow, will update once we are on the road again!
